September

In the month of September, our chiefs are hard at work on our written plan for the VE regional business plan competition. In terms of the departments, they’re working on their VE tasks and getting a feel for the virtual economy.

October

October brings a new month full of new tasks for VE that our departments are working on. Additionally, our social media pages are getting up and running with introductions for different employees of Geek Bikes. We attended the VEI conference in Elgin, and learned a lot about the virtual business industry. Lucas Oldham was our first member of the month from the Finance and Accounting department.

November

As we brace for the start of winter, the chiefs are hard at work finishing up the business plan competition, as well as practicing for the presentation element of the competition. We brought in a special guest, Mr. Miles, in order to get some feedback on our presentation. Gavin Green has led the team in preparing for the trade show in Saginaw, and has earned employee of the month!

December

In December, it was crunch time for the trade show! Preparing our booth, working on printing, laminating, and organizing different Marketing items, sales materials, and submitting the last of our required items for the tradeshow was a stressful yet valuable experience for all of our employees. Our business plan team also competed in their regional round in front of judges. Sean Lane earned employee of the month for his creative social media videos.

January

In the month of January, we are getting back into the swing of things working on national competitions. Each department has been hard at work preparing and composing detailed plans of operation to be entered in VE’s department plan competitions. Our social media team has been creating ideas and plans for TikTok and Instagram videos in the coming weeks. The Finance and Accounting department is working on paying invoices for our successful trade show in Saginaw, MI this past month. Additionally, they’re keeping up with our monthly payments as we return to school. Finally, our HR & Legal department is working on their department handbook as well as their monthly newsletter while staying on top of Circles of Excellence for VE

February

This month, our team placed top 10 at our Regional Competition! Three of our departments are competing in the following week (2/10-2/15), so all of our firm is hard at work. We are all preparing for the National Competitions and our upcoming trade show on February 26th in Naperville, IL.
